Entry Guidelines

All you need to know about nominations and the judging process

  • Entry to the Tech South West Awards is free
  • Entrants must be based within Bath, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset or Wiltshire. ​If the organisation is headquartered elsewhere, but has a regional office, it may still enter. This must be detailed in the entry form. 
  • Every entry will also be automatically placed in the Cluster Awards category for the relevant geographical area
  • When preparing your submission, please review the category criteria carefully, then ensure that it contains sufficient robust information. 
  • The judges will be looking for a good story, well told, and backed up with solid metrics.
  • All entries must be submitted online via www.techsouthwest.co.uk/enter-awards-2022
  • You must register on this website to enter these awards. You will be automatically signed up as a free Tech South West member. Unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@techsouthwest.co.uk  
  • The entry deadline is June 30 2022

Nominations

You will be able to nominate for the People’s Choice Award. The entry date  will be announced on Twitter. You cannot nominate yourself for the People’s Choice Award – this will go to public Vote. You can nominate another person/organisation for the People’s Choice Award on Twitter.

What are we looking for?

Evidence, examples, facts and figures, stand out achievements and testimonials. Try to be as detailed as possible to showcase your achievements. 

Judging

Each judge will be assigned several categories based on their expertise, and will be issued a scorecard to assess each entry. Each category has several judges. The full shortlist is announced in September.

Terms and Conditions of Entry

  • Entrants must be based within Bath, Bristol, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire. ​
  • If the organisation is headquartered elsewhere, but has a regional office, it may still enter. This must be detailed in the entry form.
  • You cannot nominate yourself for the ‘People’s Choice’ award!

Judging

  • To ensure a broad mix of expertise (and geography!) judging is carried out by members of the Tech South West steering group, sponsors and partners. 
  • If a judge has a conflict of interest with a nominee (see below) they will not be allowed to mark that nominee
  • What constitutes a conflict of interest?
    • the nominee is a company a judge owns/founded/runs/works at is nominated
    • the judge is on the advisory/ board of directors for a nominated company
    • the judge has formally mentored (or been mentored by)/is monitoring a nominated company/individual
    • the judge has invested financially into a nominated company
  • The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into by Tech South West or the judges in relation to decisions.
