Now a global company – savvy navvy, often referred to as ‘Google Maps for Boats’, shows how technology can break down industry barriers and not least enabled more people to confidently and safely enjoy the water.
savvy navvy offers a revolutionary, easy-to-use app that brings everything you need for a seamless boating experience, all in one place. Built from the ground up using official hydrographic data, savvy navvy solves many on-water navigation issues with a routing algorithm using wind, weather, tides, and boat settings to route users to their destination in the fastest, safest route available. Recently going beyond boating, savvy navvy now also has functionalities for kayakers, paddleboarders and jetskiers and is used in over 100 countries across the globe.

Going from strength to strength, the popular boating navigation app now has a 15-strong fully remote team. They are growing partnerships across the industry, launched a completely new freemium model plan in the USA, and not least secured more than £4.5m pound in crowdfunding from more than 1,800 investors, including the founders of Kahoot.
“I think our crowdfunding campaigns over the last few years have really put savvy navvy on the map. People really understand that we are trying to do something that makes a difference for boaters out there,” says Jelte.
Now turning their focus onto this year’s boating season savvy navvy is getting ready to launch the enhanced, version two, of the smartest boating app out there.
