The University of Bristol’s Enterprise Services include the renowned Engine Shed business hub, world-class SETsquared Business Incubator and pioneering Quantum Technology Innovation Centre (QTIC+). The Venue & Events Manager leads the front-of-house team in organising, managing more than 300 events and 2,000 room bookings per year, alongside curating the member’s lounge, co-working, event spaces, meeting rooms and café.
What will you be doing?
You will ensure that the public and members’ elements of Engine Shed create an exciting, profitable, high profile and effective space for academics, entrepreneurs, investors, business leaders and students, that is recognised internationally. Overseeing all day-to-day customer facing activity and ensuring that service levels are maintained for visitors and members.
You will oversee demand across our services, managing bookings and resources to ensure that all activities and events are properly staffed, provided with adequate space and equipment, and effectively managed to provide an excellent customer experience. This will include line managing the front-of-house team and centre assistant, dealing with suppliers, and supporting customers and members. You will also support the recruitment and on-boarding of new Engine Shed tenants, including coordinating the sales process.
